JetBlue put BlueFirst, its new domestic first class, on sale on 15 October 2026. It is a separate cabin from Mint, the airline's lie flat business class on longer flights. BlueFirst is meant for the much larger part of the JetBlue network where Mint is not offered, which until now topped out at an EvenMore extra legroom seat.

The first BlueFirst revenue flight is scheduled for 8 December 2026 from Boston Logan to Fort Lauderdale. JetBlue says select flights between Fort Lauderdale and New York LaGuardia follow within days, and its published schedule lists more than 30 routes starting between December 2026 and April 2027, with Fort Lauderdale, Boston and New York at the centre of the early rollout.

The seat itself is a recliner, not a bed. JetBlue describes a dedicated two by two cabin with Tuft and Needle foam cushions, five inches of recline, up to seven inches more legroom than its Main seats and a 13.3 inch seatback screen with Bluetooth. Meals are served on flights of 899 miles or longer, with snacks on every BlueFirst flight.

Fares come in three versions. BlueFirst includes two checked bags, free advance seat selection and no change or cancellation fees. BlueFirst Flex adds refunds to the original form of payment. BlueFirst Base includes one checked bag, and seat selection is free only within 24 hours of departure.

The practical catch is aircraft assignment. JetBlue says BlueFirst is being added to its non Mint fleet over time and may be available only on select flights or dates, including on an intermittent basis, so the route alone does not guarantee the cabin. Before you book, open the seat map for your exact flight and look for the two by two rows at the front.

If you end up in economy instead, our JetBlue best seats hub explains which rows we rate, and our original schematics for the JetBlue Airbus A320 and the JetBlue Airbus A321 show where the extra legroom rows sit. Our guide on how to verify your aircraft type walks through checking your booking, and the JetBlue seat maps hub lists every JetBlue configuration we cover.
